Internal loss analysis of steam turbine
Seven internal losses of steam turbine include:
(1) Nozzle loss. When the steam flows through the nozzle, part of the steam generates disturbance and eddy current, and there is friction between the steam and the nozzle surface, resulting in the loss of work capacity.
(2) Loss of moving blades. When the steam flows through the moving blade, due to the friction and eddy current between the steam flow and the moving blade surface, it will also cause the loss of work capacity.General Electric IS200TBTCH1C
(3) Loss of residual speed. When the steam driven blade is discharged, the absolute speed has a certain amount of kinetic energy. This part of kinetic energy is not utilized, and it will be converted into heat energy again, which will increase the exhaust enthalpy and cause the loss of work capacity.
(4) Steam leakage loss. It includes two parts: one is the steam leakage of the shaft seal at the end of the cylinder. The other part is the loss of steam leakage in the stage, including the loss of steam leakage at diaphragm gland, moving blade and cylinder clearance.
(5) Friction blast loss. Friction loss refers to the loss caused by the friction between the impeller and the steam when the impeller is rotating, and the power consumed by the steam whirlpool formed by the rotation of the steam on both sides of the impeller. The blowing loss refers to the friction loss between the two sides of the cascade and the steam, and the additional loss caused by blowing the steam driven blade from one side to the other side when the moving blade rotates in the part without steam flow in the partial inlet stage. Friction loss and blast loss are collectively referred to as friction blast loss.
(6) Steam rejection loss. In the partial inlet stage, the steam from the nozzle only passes through the flow passage of some moving blades, while other moving blades are full of stagnant steam. When this part of moving blades rotates to align with the nozzle again, the main steam flow from the nozzle will first repel the retained steam, which will reduce the steam flow speed. There is a loss of energy.
(7) Wet steam loss. The flow rate of water droplets in wet steam is smaller than that of steam, and the steam molecules consume a part of energy to accelerate the water droplets and cause energy loss. At the same time, due to the low flow rate of water droplets, when entering the moving blade, it impacts on the back of the inlet of the moving blade, which has a braking effect on the impeller and consumes some useful work.
