Disadvantages of capacitive touch screens. 1. The light transmittance and clarity of the capacitive touch screen are better than those of the four-wire resistive screen. Of course, they cannot be compared with the surface acoustic wave screen and the five-wire resistive screen. 2. The capacitive screen is seriously reflective, and the four-layer composite touch screen with capacitive technology has uneven transmittance of light of various wavelengths, causing color distortion. Due to the reflection of light between the layers, the image characters are also blurred. 3. There is no reaction when touched by gloved hands or non-conductive objects. This is because a more insulating medium is added. 4. When the ambient temperature and humidity change, and the environmental electric field changes, it will cause the capacitive screen to drift, causing inaccuracy.
3. Infrared touch screen
The infrared touch screen uses a dense infrared matrix in the X and Y directions to detect and locate the user’s touch. The infrared touch screen installs a circuit board frame in front of the display. The circuit board arranges infrared transmitting tubes and infrared receiving tubes on the four sides of the screen, corresponding to each other to form a horizontal and vertical infrared matrix. When a user touches the screen, his or her finger will block the horizontal and vertical infrared rays passing through that location, so the location of the touch point on the screen can be determined. Any touching object can change the infrared rays on the contact points to achieve touch screen operation.
Advantages of infrared touch screen: Infrared touch screen is not affected by current, voltage and static electricity, and is suitable for some harsh environmental conditions. Its main advantages are low price, easy installation, no need for cards or any other controllers, and it can be used on computers of all levels. The disadvantage is that since there is no capacitor charging and discharging process, the response speed is faster than the capacitive type, but the resolution is lower.
Features of infrared touch screen: 1. It is not interfered by current, voltage and static electricity, and the screen can resist strong impact. 2. Can expand network control, sound sensor, human body proximity sensor, user software encryption protection, infrared data transmission, etc. 3. The resolution of the screen is determined by the number of infrared tubes in the frame, but the larger the screen, the more complex the layout of the infrared tubes, so it cannot be used on large-size screens. 4. It has poor resistance to light interference. When used in an environment with large lighting changes, it requires multi-level self-adjustment, self-restoring hardware adaptability and highly intelligent identification.
4. Surface acoustic wave touch screen
The touch screen part of the surface acoustic wave touch screen can be a flat, spherical or cylindrical glass plate, installed in front of or in front of the plasma display screen. This glass panel is just a piece of pure tempered glass, which differs from other touch screen technologies in that it does not have any film or covering layer. Vertical and horizontal ultrasonic transmitting transducers are fixed on the upper left and lower right corners of the glass screen, and two corresponding ultrasonic receiving transducers are fixed on the upper right corner. The four peripheries of the glass screen are engraved with very precisely spaced reflection stripes at 45° angles from sparse to dense.
