The Woodward self driving connected network distributed I/O node is a small Kancaster module designed for turbine control in harsh vibration and temperature environments.
Woodward control systems, such as micronetworks, can easily program these nodes to collect I/O sensor data from remote locations. Woodward’s GAP graphical application software provides automatic node initialization, grouping operations, and diagnostic functions when using these node controls:

Designed as a function of a distributed control system, wood based rtcnet and/or linked NET distributed I/O modules can be used with the FLEX500 platform to expand the number and type of input and output signals according to specific application requirements.
The Ethernet, serial communication ports, and CAN communication ports, as well as the related MODBUS (MOBUS) TAP/IP protocol and CANCALOD protocol, make this platform very suitable for functioning as a part of the entire factory DCS or as an independent controller. Four Ethernet ports and four CAN ports allow for the network flexibility and redundancy necessary for today’s critical control system architecture.
