The DYNA hazardous area actuators have a Class I, Division 2, Group D UL listing, Hazardous applications that can often occur in the petrochemical industry.
ACTUATOR
The actuator consists of an electromagnet with an iron armature that rotates on the central shaft bearings and has a return spring that balances the magnetic force of the armature. When a DC current flows in the coil, the magnetic force moves the armature in the stator. This linear movement is converted into a rotary motion by means of a crank arm, which is part of the output shaft.
The all-electric, proportional actuators are compatible with all engines and can be mounted in any position on the engine.
The torque ranges of the 8000 series are:
DYNA 8000: 1.4 N • m with a setting range of 35 °
DYNA 8200: 4.1 N • m with an adjustment range of 45 °
DYNA 8400: 7.3 N • m with a setting range of 45 °
CONTROL
The electronic controller is the data processing unit of the controller module. It contains electronic components that process the magnetic encoder input signal that controls the motor at the desired speed / revolutions per minute set in the controller. Electronic settings are available on the controller so that the unit can be adjusted in use if necessary.

FEATURES & FUNCTIONALITY
The robust, bi-directional F-Series actuator uses LAT (Limited Angle Torque) motor technology to drive the actuator to position very quickly. Slew rates are on the order of 80 mSec, compared to 160 mSec or more for competing technologies. The actuator can accept a PWM, J1939 CAN, 4-20 mA, or 0-5 Vdc position demand signal.
F-Series is designed to be engine-mounted for various position control functions on reciprocating engines and is ideal for on-highway vehicles and stationary gaseous-fueled generators or pumps. The electric actuator requires no hydraulics, pneumatics, grease or gear train and is therefore highly reliable. And, it’s integral electronics eliminate the need for a separate dedicated driver box.

The corrosion resistant Model 712 Electrically Power Governor (EPG) actuator is designed for precise isochronous speed control of diesel engines. Woodward actuators operate at the highest level of efficiency, reliability and responsiveness with maximum work capacity over the full governor travel.
EPG actuators are part of a complete control system consisting of three-components including:
Electronic speed control (ordered separately)
Electric Actuator
Magnetic pickup (ordered separately)
Features:
Full governor travel of 35° at 1.6 J (1.2 ft-lb) including settings for:
Over travel to ensure prime mover stops are reached
No-load to full load travel—normally 2/3 of full governor travel is recommended
Travel required to accelerate the prime mover
Travel required to decelerate or shut down prime mover
Output shaft of 0.375″-36 SAE serrated on each end
Ambient temperature range: –40 to +93 °C (–40 to +200 °F)
