Features of S800 I/O Station
Industrial IT”s I/O modules are all intelligent modules with their own CPUs. Their main functions are signal conditioning, A/D, D/A conversion, and various data preprocessing, including linearization and engineering unit conversion.
As a distributed process I/O station, S800 I/O is designed as a module, which is economical, flexible, easy to install, wired, and can be directly connected to the transmission system. Its modules and terminal blocks can be arbitrarily combined to meet different space and application requirements.
S800 I/O can communicate with higher level control system through Profibus DP or ABB AF100 field bus. At the same time, it can be connected with ABB transmission equipment, and the module status can be displayed or remotely diagnosed through the field bus. The data scans the I/O modules through the field bus according to a certain period, and the scanning period is 4-108ms according to the module type. S800 I/O has full redundancy function, including bus interface module redundancy and bus media redundancy I/O module redundancy. Disturbance free switching can be realized, and all outputs can be forced or preset. The I/O module is locked with the terminal block through the mechanical lock key, and all modules can be plugged in and out with power. Intrinsic safety module and HART communication are provided to convert HART protocol to Profibus DP V1, and DTM can be used for configuration. The status display of each module and channel is easy for error diagnosis. All modules are injection molded, and the protection level is IP20. The S800 I/O station is rail mounted, either horizontally or vertically. Compact and expandable terminals can be mixed together. The selection of expansion cable can make the installation more flexible to meet the requirements of different installation spaces.
5. System composition scheme
The system is equipped with four process stations and eight operator stations: the engineer station uses industrial PC (or portable computer) as the commissioning equipment. According to the coal chemical process and site layout, we have established four process stations in total; The system operator station runs on an industrial PC, and the graphical operation interface of the operation interface developed by the full Chinese Digivis software package based on the MS Windows NT platform enhances the use and operation functions of the system. In addition, it can also improve the external equipment indicators of PC, such as: display, printer, mouse and keyboard, so that the system operation is more convenient. According to the requirements of the manufacturer, one or two operator stations shall be established for the four process stations. Each operator station can only monitor and operate the information of the corresponding process station. The specific structure is shown in Figure 1.

The whole system is designed safely and reliably. Industrial Ethernet adopts redundant network topology with high reliability and security. When one or all of the operator stations and engineer stations are closed, the system will not stop as long as the process station is not stopped; The process station adopts the redundancy mode of dual computer hot backup. The battery can be placed in the controller EI module. This battery can maintain normal operation for 20 milliseconds in the case of power failure. When an error occurs in one controller, the system will automatically switch to another controller to achieve smooth switching and synchronization between the master and slave AC800F controllers. Therefore, the entire system has high security. Not only can the controller be redundant, but all inputs and outputs support redundant configuration, which can further improve the reliability of the system. However, if I/O redundancy is used, the cost will increase, so we only use controller redundancy.
The communication template of AC800F controller system is a standard TCP/IP protocol Ethernet module, which allows the system to connect to the enterprise LAN without adding equipment. Since the system supports standard DDE and OPC data exchange standards, it will make the data exchange between the system and various third-party databases or software easier, and bring convenience to the on-site real-time data management and enterprise information management system.
6. Process realization
According to the process, it can be divided into “coke screening system”, “coal preparation”, “desulfurization and sulfur recovery”, “ammonium sulfate”, “benzene elution”, “comprehensive water supply”, “biochemical treatment”, “coking”, “refrigeration station”, “air compression station”, “tank farm” and other post stations. During the system design, the post station is used to design the flow chart screen. We have made a lot of macro libraries in the screen, which not only makes it convenient for us to draw the operator screen, but also ensures the unity and beauty of the screen. A number of dynamic bar charts are made on the operation interface of the operator station, which not only visually describe the changes of variables, but also avoid the operator”s visual fatigue. Many graphical symbols are also made on the screen. These graphical symbols can not only represent the state of the current variable, but also enable the operator to call the operation panel of the corresponding variable through these symbols, and use software logic to control the switch of the pump, manual and automatic switching, as well as the predefined value or operating value of the variable.
The coke oven is a key in the coking industry. The temperature in the oven directly affects the quality of the coke produced, so we must ensure that the temperature in the oven is stable within a reliable range. Therefore, we have adopted a composite control mode for the pressure control in the coke oven flue and gas main pipe, that is, feedforward plus feedback/manual switching to achieve the control requirements. The liquid level in the benzene elution condensate storage tank, the temperature at the top of the ammonium evaporating tower and the PH value of the ammonium water are automatically adjusted. Since the SP value (set value) of many regulating circuits is an uncertain number, it needs to be different according to the requirements of different periods; In the design of PID regulation and manual/automatic switching, we designed SP to track PV in manual mode and adjust the process value according to the SP value in automatic mode, so that when the operator switches from manual regulation to automatic mode, he can immediately adjust the process value with this process value. It is beneficial for operators to further explore ways to improve work efficiency.
On the operation interface of the operator station, the trend charts of important variables such as “bottom pressure of the ammonium evaporating tower” and “liquid level of the regeneration tower” are made, which is helpful for the operator to observe the change trend of important data intuitively. We use the signal sequence function to record the change process of each operation. The fastest scanning cycle is two milliseconds, so that we can clearly record the change sequence of data. When an accident occurs, we can refer to these data to analyze the cause of the accident. We have also created a database to record the important variables in the process of “coal preparation”, “coke screening”, “tank farm”, etc. Enterprises can analyze the production process based on the data, optimize the production process, and constantly improve the efficiency.
OPC standard software interface is designed in the system, which provides a basis for the field data management of enterprises. At the same time, it provides guarantee for enterprises to realize information management.
7. Summary
Now the plant has been put into production. According to the design requirements, the whole system is designed to produce 1 million tons of coke per year.
