DAQmx USB was unexpectedly terminated while buffering measurement items, and Windows Vista showed a blue screen.

Question:
When the DAQmx buffer collection or generation process running on Vista was unexpectedly terminated, my computer rebooted or a blue screen appeared, with STOP codes 0x00000044, 0x000000fe, or 0x0000d1 appearing in USBPORT.SYS.

This is a problem with the NI-DAQmx8.5 driver. If the NI-DAQmx connected to the USB is running buffer collection or is accidentally terminated when generating tasks, it may cause the system to crash, and the computer will restart or display the Windows Kernel panic check (that is, the blue screen for crashes).
There is currently no known solution, and we will strive to fix it in the next version of NI-DAQmx driver update.
Conditions that may cause unexpected process termination include:
Using the Terminate Process action in the Task manager will stop the process
Use backend programs such as pskill to request stopping of processes
Shut down the computer at the command line (shutdown – r – t 0) while the task is running
Encountered access conflicts, breakpoints, or other unhandled conflicts
Attempt to log out, restart, shut down, or click Cancel when prompted by the process to exit or cancel
Terminate the process while debugging on LabWindows/CVI (TM) or Visual Studio.
